Chief Secretary SK Joshi said the Centre has sanctioned Rs 7,190 cr to the Telangana State under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) connected to Accelerate Irrigation Benefit Programme – Har Khet Ko Pani, Per Drop More Crop, Water sheds for the year 2018-19.

The Chief Secretary conducted a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat here. He said under Accelerated Irrigation Benefit (AIBP) program, Rs 5,093 cr worth works will be taken up to provide irrigation water to 2,80,333 hectare, Watershed program with Rs 295 crore to provide water to 1,67,691 hectare, per drop more crop scheme Rs 749 cr to provide water to 1,18,000 hectare.

Chief Secretary directed the officials to implement the programme. Joshi who is also heading the State level Committee has held the meeting with the concerned senior officials. He informed that Rs 24574 cr allotted for 11 projects under AIBP scheme the officials identified irrigation provided of 3.099 lakh hectares against 6.370 lakh hectares, 11 projects of CAD, it is planned to irrigate 5.31 lakh acres and 1.677 lakh hectares.

Principal Secretaries Ajay Mishra, Adhar Sinha, Vikas Raj, Parthasarathy, Agriculture Commissioner Jagan Mohan, Horticulture Commissioner Venkatrami Reddi Pireda and others were present.
