The State government will soon establish a super specialty hospital in Warangal with an expenditure of Rs 150 crore, informed Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari.

It may be noted that the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, during his visit to Warangal city in January 2016 has made an announcement that MGM Hospital will be upgraded into a twin-towered multi-storey super-specialty hospital. MGM Hospital will be converted into a Mother and Childcare Centre.

Speaking after flagging off four new buses the government provided to the KMC in Hanamkonda on Friday, the Deputy CM said the State government is allocating huge amounts of funds towards improvement of infrastructure at government hospitals.

The government is making efforts to offer quality medical services to the public and that is why Kaloji Health University has been established in Warangal and number of medical seats was increased. State-of-art medical equipment is being provided to government hospitals.
Srihari promised to address all

the issues being faced by government hospitals in the district.

He urged the medical fraternity to quit commercial attitude and work with service motto in offering health services to the people. At some places, women were forced to undergo unwanted hysterectomy wherein a woman’s uterus is removed and such practice has to be stopped.
He further wanted the faculty at KMC to take up social service by organising health camps in rural areas to create awareness among rural folks, especially the women, on health and hygiene and to treat the villagers.

Srihari expressed pleasure over increasing number of girl students studying medicine. In the past boys used to surpass girls in education now the trend has changed. The girl-boy ratio in the field of education is now 60:40, he noted.

ZP Chairperson G Padma, MP P Dayakar, Mayor N Narender KMC Principal Dr Chandrashekar, GWMC corporators Boda Dinna and A Lelavathi, Kaloji Health University staff, students and others are present.
