Minister for Medical & Health C Lakshma Reddy said that the State government’s prestigious “KCR Kit” scheme was successful in the State.

Replying to queries from the members on the KCR Kit scheme in the Assembly on Monday, the Health Minister clarified that the response was tremendous and the pregnant women were thronging the government hospitals for child delivery. He also pointed out that so far over four lakh pregnant women were benefited with the KTR Kit scheme. He also clarified that the State government alone sanctioned funds for the scheme and Central funds were not at all utilized for the State



scheme.

The Health Minister also reminded that the State government had introduced 241 “Amma Vodi” vehicles all over the State for taking the “mother and the new born” to their homes safely. Stating that primary health centers were being modernized in all the districts, Lakshma Reddy said facilities in all the government hospitals were improved. He also said the government would increase bed-strength in all the hospitals soon.

Stating that the Khanapur hospital was being modernized, the minister said his department was taking steps to fill some 10,000 posts through the TSPSC shortly as announced earlier
