The State government is ensuring linkage of Aadhaar numbers to all schemes to avoid duplication and to ensure that genuine beneficiaries benefit from them, Finance Minister Etela Rajender said here on Wednesday.

Responding to a question in the Legislative Council during Question Hour, the Minister said the Aadhaar linking will be completed by March 31, 2018, as required by the Central government. “With Aadhaar linkage, the government can easily avoid duplication and subsidies would be extended only to genuine

beneficiaries,” the Minister said.

Rajender said the government has also given instructions to all the banks in the State that separate Aadhaar enrollment centers should be opened to facilitate customers link their Aadhaar numbers to avoid last minute rush. The Minister said though the State government had not adopted the Central Act on Aadhar seeding, he assured the House that the State government was on the job to ensure linking of Aadhar numbers which will be completed before the schedule time.
