India is at a historic inflection point in global transportation, where new technologies and connectivity will drive a paradigm shift in mobility over the next few decades.

Considering the focus, the Central and State governments are giving to Smart Mobility and technology backed infrastructure, ​a three-day Conference on “Smart World and New Mobility: Breaking barriers” at the Smart Mobility Expo is being held on September 13-15 at Hyderabad.

This event provides an outlet for sharing cutting-edge research, best practices, and experiences from across the world and is intended to be a knowledge event for discussing important issues facing the road, transport and mobility sectors.

The seminar sessions will have discussion on key areas such as how rapidly evolving technologies and business models for delivering mobility services have dramatic potential to transform the transportation sector India.

In recent years, Big Data has emerged as a buzzword. The collision of Big Data and the Internet of Things, with a network of connected cars and sensors, means traffic management is getting smarter. New ways to collect, manage and analyse vast quantities of data present opportunities to provide a smarter and more efficient transport system. This would ultimately enable government’s vision on smart cities, seamless transport hubs, and interchanges that provide seamless connectivity and high



passenger satisfaction. The session on Technology Enablers for Smart Mobility and Big Data will explore these areas.

New technologies are delivering intelligence to the rail infrastructure enabling it to increase capacity at a faster rate, while enhancing operational, environmental and safety performance. The session on railways as the mobility backbone of the future will touch upon the next-gen solutions for the railways. Some of the other key areas the conference will touch upon are Breakthrough Innovations: Mobility as a Service; Future Mobility Challenges and Solution; and Smart City Mission – Enabling Mobility.
