The Singareni Collieries will open 12 new mines including six undergrounds and six open cast mines. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will inaugurate one of these mines by visiting the Singareni areas during December.

Replying to a question raised by the TRS member S Satyanarayana if Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) was starting any new mines, the Chief Minister said the Singareni Collieries would start 12 new mines including six undergrounds and six open cast mines. The underground mines include Kasipeta, 2 inclines, KK 6 incline, Kondapuram mine, Ramapuram Shaft Block, KTK 3 Incline LW



and Expansion of KTK 5 Incline LW. 

The CM said he would inaugurate one of these mines during December by visiting the mining area. Responding to a query by TRS member P Madhukar, the Chief Minister said the Skill Development centres would be started by Singareni at two or three places in the coal belt so that the local youth could get employment in the company.

The Chief Minister said that a memorandum would be submitted to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give Income Tax exemption to the Singareni workers on the lines of the Army jawans.
