According to the amended Act of Telangana Shops and Establishments, 2017, there would be no need for prior inspection of the premises before giving the provisional registration. After uploading the application along with other enclosures, the provisional registration shall be granted within 24 business hours which would be valid until a final order is passed on the application for registration.

“The government has decided to amend the relevant provisions of the existing Act to facilitate setting up of businesses under Ease of Doing Business,” Labour

and Employment Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy said while introducing the Bill.

He also explained that the Act contained certain provisions for fixing a time limit of 30 days for final registration of businesses and if no adverse order is passed, it would be deemed to be the final automatically at the end of 30 days.

The amended Act will further enhance business in the State, he said, adding that after obtaining provisional registration, shopkeepers can run their business and approach banks for loans.
