Prohibition and Excise Department Director (Enforcement) Akun Sabharwal on Tuesday made it clear that no fresh notices would be issued till August 2.

The department has already issued notices to 12 persons, including those from the film industry. Of the 12, six persons – film director Puri Jagannath, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, actors P Subbaraju, Tarun and Navdeep along with art director Dharma Rao alias Chinna have already appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for questioning.

“There is no question of giving notices to anyone till August 2,” Sabharwal

said.

As and when the department is getting information about the presence of narcotics, officials are raiding the premises and seizing the substance.
On Monday, officials raided three places in the city and nabbed actor Kajal Aggarwal’s manager Puttkar Ronson Joseph at his residence in Manikonda for possessing four grams of marijuana.

On Tuesday too, authorities raided a place in the city but could not find narcotics substances, another official said. He added the Excise Department was leaving no stone unturned in making the city free from drugs.
