Chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday said a new registration policy will come into effect in June. The registration process will be transparent and corruption free through Dharani portal, he said.

The CM asked senior officials to conduct the registration process and website management in five mandals in the first phase and 30 mandals in the second phase. “Based on the feedback from the pilot project, officials should implement the new registration policy all over the state,” he said, after chairing a key meeting with ministers Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Jupally Krishna Rao and senior officials at Pragthi Bhavan here.

“Registration should be taken in every mandal from June,” he said. There are 141sub-registrar offices. In 443 mandals where there no registration

offices, powers are being given to tehsildars. “First phase of training has already been given to tehsildars and second phase will be organised soon,” the CM said.

From May 7, Dharani website administration will be conducted in five mandals and in 30 mandals from May 19. The pilot project will be conducted in one rural mandal of each district.

The new policy has been designed in such a manner that both seller and buyer will be coming to the registration office only once and their passbooks and registration papers dispatched to them by courier, a senior official said. “With this, both the seller and buyer need not make rounds to the registration office and there will not be any grounds for corruption,” the CM added.
