This World Environment Day, e-Taxis will be making their entry on the city roads with Mayor Bonthu Rammohan flagging off a few vehicles at Sanjeevaiah Park on Monday.

These vehicles are being launched by Green Mile, an electric vehicle infrastructure startup company working towards sustainable transportation as part of World Environment Day. The taxis would be operated as airport taxi service from different

areas.

Taxis are one of the major sources of pollution in Hyderabad. It is estimated that one diesel taxi emits exhaust fumes equivalent of 25 private diesel cars. On the other hand, electric vehicles emit zero tailpipe emissions, the company claimed in its press release.

e-Taxis and charging stations will serve as an alternative mode of transportation in a bid to ensure a cleaner and greener Hyderabad.
