A team of GHMC officials led by Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan are on a tour of Amritsar to study the ongoing urban transformation works launched by the Municipal Corporation of Amritsar.

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) K T Rama Rao had recently directed City Mayor to visit Amritsar and study the developmental activities.

According to GHMC officials, the Amritsar project includes giving facelift to over 100 buildings and transform the city but at the same time conserve its heritage and culture.The Rs 160 crore project is aimed at upgrading infrastructure facilities and to revive the historical, cultural and



architectural features of Punjab and Amritsar in particular so that the street help display of the art and culture of the State.

GHMC team led by Hyderabad Mayor will also interact and learn from Amritsar project on creation of new roads, creation of better of illumination, removal of old depleted infrastructure and converting into new infrastructure, upgrading the surroundings of the place and creating some landmarks which would be timeless and monumental.

Hyderabad Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, MLAs Pasha Quadri and Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala, CE Projects Sridhar and Zonal Commissioner (South),Srinivas Reddy are part of the GHMC team.
