KTR inspects 2BHK works in Hyderabad

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KT Rama Rao on Sunday made a surprise inspection of the double bed room unit works at Jiyaguda. The works on 2BHK unit complexes was taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 71 crore in July last.

Along with Mayor B Rammohan, the Minister visited Jiyaguda which houses 840 2BHK units in 12 blocks and directed officials to complete the works within two months.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has extended the deadline for completing the construction of Telangana state government's flagship double bedroom housing project for the urban poor in Hyderabad

The state government, which had promised



to hand over the houses to the beneficiaries under the 2BHK project by December this year, now says that the houses will be handed over only by the first half of next year. Officials said that the construction of 40,000 houses will be completed by December and that of the remaining 60,000 will be completed by June 2019. .  

Officials were told to provide drinking water, drainage facilities, electricity and other basic infrastructure in each block. He further asked officials not to comprise on the quality in the construction activities.

Against the target of constructing one lakh double bed room units in the city, around 40,000 units will be completed in this year, Rao added.
