KTR inaugurates the Kishan Bagh Park

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) Charminar zone is getting facelift with developmental works being taken up with an initial investment of Rs.83 crore, said municipal administration and urban development (MAUD) minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday.

Participating in a series of events, the minister laid foundation for Bahadurpura flyover, which is part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) and being take up at a cost of Rs.69 crore, and road restoration from Shahalibanda signal to Puranapul junction at a cost of Rs.8 crore. Several park development works were sanctioned and executed to the tune of Rs.6.2 crore.

Park. The park, spread over four acres, was also inaugurated by KTR. A butterfly garden, a rose garden, cactus garden, herbal garden and Ixora garden would be developed at the park.

“The park is free for joggers between 5am and 8.30am. However, people visiting the park between noon and 7:30pm need to a pay a fee of Rs.10 per individual and Rs.2 for children,” said Abdul Suboor, GHMC urban bio diversity (UBD) manager of Bahadurpura circle. At the park, civic works worth Rs.5.45 crore were executed, greenery developed at Rs.0.35 crore and lighting put in place at a cost of Rs.0.40 crore. A compound wall, including ornamental grill, and a stormwater drain connecting to the existing one on the main road has been constructed around the premises.
