Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar said that the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal would attract investments of Rs. 3,900 crore and create over 75,000 jobs, including 25,000 direct jobs.

Addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone for KMTP at Shyamapet in Gesugonda mandal of Warangal Rural district on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that Textile Park would bring a new revolution in Warangal and surround areas.

He said thousands of Telangana workers, who are presently working in garment industries in Mumbai, Bhiwindi, Surat and Sholapur, would return to their homes once the KMTP become operational. He said that the State Government has so far signed agreements with 22 different companies for investments of over Rs. 3,900 crore.

KCR claimed that the Telangana Government’s new industrial policy has emerged as a role model for the entire country and it has been attracting huge investments.

Stating that nearly 5,000 industries have



been given approvals so far, he claimed that the Telangana got investments of nearly Rs. 1.07 lakh crore. He said approvals for setting up industries were being given within 15 days.

The Chief Minister also listed out various schemes being implemented by his government for the welfare of various sections of the society. He said Telangana has several resources and his government was taking measures for their effective utilisation.

KCR announced that a Bill would be introduced in forthcoming Assembly session to upgrade Thandas into Gram Panchayats. He said measures were taken to strengthen rural economy.

The Chief Minister said that the KMTP would bring overall development of Warangal and surrounding areas.

Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao, Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary, MLAs E. Dayakar Rao, Challa Dharma Reddy, MP P. Dayakar, District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patel and other dignitaries were also present.
