Minister for IT & Municipal Administration K T Ramarao today said half of the country’s population will be living in the cities by 2030.

Inaugurating the 66th National Town and Country Planners’ Congress-2018 being organized by the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI) here on Friday, KTR said India was developing very fast all over the world and the people were pouring into the cities in search of employment, education and better living conditions. He also reminded that the State government had carved out 21 new districts for the sake of better administration.

that the State government was creating six urban development authorities to ensure quicker development, the MA&UD minister the government was taking effective measures to develop tanks and parks. 

The government was also contemplating to enact a new law against building plan violations. He also deplored that due to lack of coordination between the Registration offices and Municipal Corporations, registration offices were registering the plans which were not approved, builders should follow the new norms strictly and not deviate from the sanctioned building plan, he warned.
