The India International Dance Festival (IIDF), to be held at Shilparamam from November 3 to 5, will bring together all styles of dance, from classical, folk, tribal and contemporary to oriental and western forms.

A travelling dance festival which was first hosted in Bhubaneshwar in 2015 and in Bengaluru in 2016, the event will feature artistes of all age groups from across the country and abroad, including Malaysia, Dubai and Mauritius.

High standard of dance, experience through performance and dedication for the art form are essential prerequisites of a dancer to perform in the festival, said organising committee members here on Tuesday.The festival is being held by Samskritiki in collaboration with Muvva–NrityaRaaga Nigamam and Shilparamam, and will have



performances from 11 am to 9 pm on the three days.

Also, the annual IIDF Awards will be presented to outstanding dancers and researchers in the age group of 35 to 50 years for their contributions to the promotion of classical dance through performance, training and research.

The awardees this year include Ragini Chandrasekhar, New Delhi (Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Pratibha Puraskar) for Bharatanatyam; Prashant Shah, USA, for Kathak; Mrtyumjaya Sarma (Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Pratibha Puraskar) for Kuchipudi; Aiswarya Warrier, Baroda (UstadBismillah Khan Yuva Pratibha Puraskar) for Mohiniattam; Madhulita Mohapatra for Odissi; Naren Barua (Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Pratibha Puraskar) for Sattriya, and Mitul Sen Gupta, Kolkata, for contemporary.
