Home Minister and Chairman of Festival Committee Naini Narsimha Reddy said that the government sanctioned Rs 15 crore for the celebration of Bonalu this year. Last year Rs 10 crore was and this year Rs 5 crore more has been sanctioned to celebrate the festival in a more befitting and traditional manner. MLAs along with the corporators must play a vital role to take up each work near the temples jointly coordinating with the officials, he added. 

The minister directed all the ZCs, SEs to complete the works which were already sanctioned way before the festival and see that the works were done without any delay. Naini stated that the high-level



committee meeting with Chief Minister was already conducted on July 3 where directions were given to all the heads of the department like Police, HMWS&SB, GHMC, Electricity and other line departments to take up all precautionary measures and works on priority. 

Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that the corporators must conduct review meeting within two days with all the colony association, ward committee members, area sabha members in their jurisdiction to put up the proposals of the works to be taken up at temples should be furnished to the concerned officials in coordination with MLAs to seek funds before July 14.
