The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) aims to plant 40 lakh saplings within its limits as part of the Telanganaku Haritha Haram programme this year.

Out of the 40 lakh saplings, 35 lakh will be distributed to residential welfare associations (RWAs) and NGOs while five lakh will be planted by civic officials, GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy announced on Monday. He requested companies to join hands with the civic body and provide tree guards under corporate social responsibility (CSR) work. “The details of tree guards and their price can be obtained from the GHMC website,” he said.
