Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to extend the contract with Hare Krishna Movement (HKM) for providing food at Annapurna centre (Rs 5 meal) till March end this year.

At present, 150 Annapurna meals centres are operated in different areas of the city to provide safe, hygienic, and tasty food. The contract with HKM – the existing agency, which is supplying the food at the centres, ended on February 28.

Since the

tender process to appoint a new agency is underway, GHMC decided to extend the contract with HKM till the month-end. The GHMC Standing Committee approved the contract extension during a meeting held here on Thursday.

The committee also approved the civic body plans to enter into an agreement with an agency under Public Private Partnership mode for collection, transportation and recycling of construction and demolition debris in the city.
