Draw for Haj pilgrims to be held today

Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Special Officer of Telangana Haj Committee informed that Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM of Telangana State will take out draw at 11 a.m. on 11th January to select Haj pilgrims.

Prof. Shukoor informed that Central Govt. has allotted a quota of 4046 Haj pilgrims for Telangana State out of which 508 seats come under reserved category. Draw will be taken for the remaining 3558 seats. 

There are 16642 applicants this



year for performing Haj.Prof. Shukoor further informed that Saudi Arabia has allotted 1.75 lakh seats for Indian Haj Pilgrims. Govt. of India allocates quota according to the strength of Muslim population in the States.

Advisor to Govt., Mr. A.K. Khan, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Dana Kishore, MP, Mr. Dattatreya, Chairman of Wakf Board, Mr. Mohammed Saleem and other public representatives will be present on this occasion.
