CM KCR talks tough against adulteration

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday declared an all-out against food adulteration and tasked the State police with detection of adulterants using DNA techniques.

Reviewing the adverse impact of the adulteration practices on the lives of people with the top brass of the Police Department, he wanted large-scale supply of DNA kits for food authenticity testing.He asked the police to deal sternly with the individuals or firms indulging in adulteration so as to eradicate the



evil practice once and for all. He promised that the government would bring in new laws if the laws in force proved to be inadequate.

The Chief Minister asked the police to come out in a couple of days with effective strategies to save people from frauds in food and seed supplies. Thanks to the effective measures initiated by the police, the State could eradicate the menace of gudumba and gambling — two major maladies that played havoc with the people.
