CM KCR says Telangana a trend-setter with several unique programmes

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday said Telangana had emerged as the trend-setter with several unique programmes, both for development and welfare of people, which are being sought to be replicated in other States.

From the Prime Minister down to Chief Ministers of several States, there has been consistent appreciation for the efforts of the TRS government in launching innovative schemes that had a positive impact on the lives of the people, the Chief Minister said, addressing delagates at the party’s 17th plenary session in suburban Kompally.

Recalling the early days of the party that was launched in 2001, the TRS president said most people dismissed it as a non-starter. “We marched ahead with self-confidence and courage and with the faith people of Telangana had placed on us. We were successful in our endeavours, fought for separate Statehood, won elections on our own, and established ourselves as a party to reckon with,” Chandrashekhar Rao said.

Stating that some of the programmes implemented by the TRS government needed courage and which were never thought of by others, he said



several governments in other States failed to even implement the promises made by them in election manifestos. “Such is the impact of our programmes that people in neighbouring States including Karnataka and Maharashtra have started demanding replication of the schemes in their respective States. When I met former Prime Minister and JD (S) president H D Deve Gowda and former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru recently, they informed me that the people of Karnataka had observed some of the programmes implemented by the TRS government and its effectiveness, and were now demanding that similar programmes be launched in that State. The same is the case with the people of Maharashtra,” he said.

“It is common knowledge that in some States, providing ambulances to even human beings is a difficult task, but in Telangana State, we introduced veternary ambulances for livestock. We have ambulances stationed in 100 constituencies,” he said, adding that the credit for success of the party and State government should go to the Ministers and elected representatives who were working tirelessly for the development of the State.
