Drinking water to all villages will be provided by August 15. This follows a direction by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday to Mission Bhagiratha officials to stick to the deadline. He said clean drinking water to all households should be supplied by Diwali this year.

During a review meeting, the chief minister said a major portion of works as part of Mission Bhagiratha had been completed and teething troubles had been overcome. He said the rest of the works should be completed on a war footing to meet schedule. Panchayat Raj minister Jupally



Krishna Rao, Mission Bhagiratha vicechairman Vemula Prashanth Reddy, MP J Santhosh Kumar, principal secretary Shanti Kumari, secretary Smita Sabarwal, RWS ENC Krupakar Reddy, TRANSCO CMD Prabhakar Rao, Mission Bhagiratha advisor Gnaneshwar, Manohar, CE Vijay Prakash were present on the occasion.

CM told Mission Bhagiratha vice-chairman, secretary and ENC to tour places where pace of the work is slow. In view of the works being completed in 10 districts, he said the scheme could be launched shortly there.
