GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy has thanked all the property holders for paying tax to the GHMC for the financial year promptly resulting in the Corporation collecting Rs 121.07 crore towards property tax, Rs 121 crore through building permissions and Rs 167 crore through LRS exceeding the last year’s collections.

The GHMC Commissioner appealed to all the property tax payers to avail the opportunity to pay their property tax for the year 2018-19 from April 6 in the Early Bird Scheme. He said in the scheme, 5% rebate will be given to the property tax payers, who paid the entire current year’s tax in April itself. With the EBS, the property tax



collections increased year after like Rs 161.38 crore in 2015-16; Rs 212 crore in 2016-17 and Rs 368.30 crore in 2017-18, he added.

The Commissioner also said the GHMC introduced Online Self-Assessment system in order to avoid hardships to the citizens and to provide transparency in the Assessment procedure. Under this system, the citizen can submit application for tax assessment through GHMC website, www.ghmc.gov.in-“e- registrations – Property Tax’ – Self Assessment Form”. Total number of applications received are 962; pending applications 195; Applications under process 27; Assessed Applications 476 and Rejected Applications 264.
