Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi praised the Telangana government for taking up the challenge of supplying potable water to every household in the State by spending a gigantic amount of Rs 47,000 crore. After being briefed on the progress of the works by the officials, the Minister expressed his delight over the fact that the Telangana government could achieve so much within a short span of three years. 

During his visit to Komatibanda where Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the pylon of Mission Bhagiratha near Gajwel here on Sunday, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar congratulated Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for taking up the programme with a vision to resolve the drinking water issue permanently. The senior BJP leader announced that they would make an attempt to replicate the programme in Bihar too.

Accompanied by Chief Secretary of Telangana SP Singh, Modi visited Ground Level Balancing Reservoir, Overhead Balancing Reservoir, Mission Bhagiratha pylon and others



during his visit before interacting with officials and locals. He also visited the girls education hub in Gajwel and under construction double-bedroom house sites in the town.

Modi lauded the Telangana government for constructing double-bedroom houses for the poor. He was also delighted to see corporate level structures being constructed at the education hub by bringing all the educational institutions on one campus.

Chief Engineer, Mission Bhagiratha, Vijay Prakash explained Modi the progress of works in the Mission Bhagiratha project while Collector P Venkatrami Reddy briefed him about the education hub facility. Principal Secretary Somesh Kumar and Special Officer, GADA (Gajwel Area Development Authority), M Hanumantha Rao and others were present. Later, Modi also visited Erravelly village, the adopted village of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He interacted with residents of the village to know about co-operative farming, double-bedroom houses and other facilities they are enjoying.
