Hyderabad: Bal Suraksha App, a mobile application to help prevent child abuse, was launched here on Friday.

It was launched as part of a discussion on ‘Child Sexual Abuse’- Media’s Role in Creating Awareness and Sensitivity at the Hyderabad Press Club.

The app, available in 11 languages, was developed jointly by Enfold Trust, UNICEF and CDAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) to help users prevent child sexual abuse.

The app includes a brief on the responsibilities of parents,



schools, doctors, nurses, police, lawyers and media towards the child and how to deal with perpetrators; tips to help children learn personal safety rules and answering their questions from two years onwards as well as learning how to use ‘No Go Tell’; abuse preventive strategies; emergency numbers and support structures. The app is available on Google Play Store and is free.

The discussion was organised by Enfold Proactive Health Trust, Bengaluru, jointly with Break the Silence, Hyderabad, Telangana State Police and UNICEF.
