Hyderabad will soon have the country’s first deemed aviation university to offer various courses including MBA in Aviation and Pilot Training. The Central Training Establishment (CTE) of Air India will establish the deemed university on its sprawling campus in Ferozguda here.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, Captain Amitabh Singh, Executive Director (Training), CTE, said that they have proposed for a deemed university on the CTE campus and conducted feasibility study as well.

“To make CTE a deemed university, we are taking up the project in three phases. We are over with the first phase and next two phases will begin soon,” he said, adding that the construction of the university would be completed by 2020.

“We have a huge campus of 20 acres here and once the

plans are approved, we will construct the university. We will also introduce an MBA course in aviation very soon, which will be the first of its kind in the country,” Singh, who recently took charge as Executive Director of the training centre, said.

Currently, the centre offers various training courses including pilot training, cabin crew courses, aircraft engineering and technician courses. “We have divided the pilot training course into two programmes: Ground school and simulators for both Airbus and Boeing so that pilots can learn various stages of flying,” he said.

The centre trains pilots for both normal and abnormal situations. Various aspects of emergencies, which pilots could encounter while flying aircraft in real life, are simulated during the training.
