Hyderabad: A network of 70 surveillance cameras in the Moghulpura police station limits was inaugurated by V Shekhar, Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Hyderabad in the presence of City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy here on Monday.

Speaking after the inauguration, Shekhar said the CCTV cameras were meant for public safety and security. They were useful for prevention and detection of crime as well as to maintain law and order, he said, adding that CCTVs helped



in deterrence of mischief mongers and criminals.

The Power Grid Corporation of India sponsored 62 CCTV cameras as part of its corporate social responsibility activities in the limits of Moghalpura PS, while another eight cameras were installed under the community CCTV project at Gowlipura market. With this, there are 852 CCTV cameras installed under CSR in old city.

Syed Pasha Quadri, MLA (Charminar), V Satyanarayana, DCP South Zone, and others were present.
