Member of Parliament and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday slammed BJP chief Amit Shah for his “construction of Ram Mandir on the disputed site in Ayodhya before 2019 Lok Sabha Elections” remarks and asked if he’s going to write the judgment when the Supreme Court is still deciding the title dispute.

Owaisi said in a tweet, “Amit Shah in Hyderabad says Mandir will be built before the Parl elections question is Shah going to write the judgment when the SCourt is deciding the Title dispute, & whether Masjid is essential feature of Islaam. It is better if the issue / Judgment given after Parl Elections for free & fair Elec.”

Amit Shah on Friday said that construction of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya will begin before the 2019 elections. Shah told a meeting of party leaders here that steps will be taken to clear the decks for launching construction of the temple before the polls, reports india.com.

“Considering the developments, I believe that construction of Ram temple will begin before the coming general elections,” BJP National Executive member Perala Sekharjee quoted Shah as

saying.

The BJP president is in Hyderabad for meeting state leaders to give a kick start to the 2019 Assembly as well as Lok Sabha elections. He had advised the state leaders to sharpen the attack on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti government. He also told party workers to conduct booth level meetings and assure people of BJP as the only alternative.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday denied that its President Amit Shah had made any statement in a Hyderabad meeting on Ram temple in Ayodhya even as AIMIM chief Asaddudin Owaisi questioned him for speaking on the sensitive issue that is being decided by the Supreme Court, reports.

“Yesterday in Telangana, BJP President Amit Shah did not make any statement on the issue of Ram mandir as being claimed in certain sections of the media. No such matter was even on the agenda,” the BJP said in a tweet.

This denial of the party is in clear contradiction of BJP National Executive member Perala Sekharjee’s statement in which he has quoted Amit Shah as saying: “I believe that construction of Ram temple will begin before the coming general elections.”
