Sixteen year old Udhayveer Singh has won an individual Gold Medal in Junior Men's 25 metre pistol event in the World Shooting Championships in South Korea.
 
In the event being held at Changwon, he also spearheaded India to the team Gold. Singh shot a score of 587 in the individual competition to grab the Gold ahead American Henry Leverett and Korean Lee Jaekyoon. 
 
Compatriot Vijayveer Sidhu finished fourth with a score of 581, while Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu took the 20th spot with a score of 568. 
 
The trio's combined score of 1736



fetched them the team Gold for India, followed by China, which totalled 1730. The bronze medal went to Team Korea, which shot a score of 1721. 
 
There were no medals for India in the 25 metre centre fire pistol event with Gurpreet Singh managing the 10th spot with a score of 581, followed by London Olympics silver-medallist Vijay Kumar.
 
India are placed fourth in the medals tally with 9 Gold, 8 Silver and seven bronze medals for a total of 24. The tally is India's best performance in International Shooting Sport Federation's showpiece.
