On the second day of the Asian Para Games at Hangzhou, China, India started with a bang on Monday. In men's Para Canoeing, Manish Kaurav won a bronze medal in the KL3 category.

In women's Para Canoeing KL2 category, Prachi Yadav secured the first gold of the day and her second medal at the ongoing games by clocking in an impressive 54.962.

In women's 100 metres, Simran showed exceptional talent to grab the silver medal today. This brings India's total medal tally to 20 medals- 7 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze.

Exciting events are lined up for today including powerlifting, blind football, athletics, boccia among



others.
 
Yesterday, Avani Lekhara bagged the gold in the 10 metres air rifle event by a narrow margin of 2.1 points. Aruna Tanwar created history by securing the first ever bronze for India in Para Taekwondo. A perfect podium finish was achieved by India in the Men's club throw with Pranav Soorma, Dharambir and Amit Siroha winning the gold, silver and bronze respectively.

India has sent a contingent of 303 athletes who are participating across 17 disciplines at the Asian Para Games. The country is hoping to surpass their best performance of 72 medals at the 2018 event in Indonesia, consisting of 15 gold, 24 silver and 33 bronze medals.
