In the Asian Para Games at Hangzhou, India’s overall medal haul has surged to an impressive 86 comprises of 21 gold, 24 silver, and 41 bronze. This remarkable feat supersedes India’s previous best of 72 medals, which was recorded in the 2018th edition of Asian Para Games at Indonesia.   Today, Sheetal Devi kickstarted the day with a podium finish winning gold in Archery compound open event.

In the men's F64 discus throw event, Devendra kumar clinched gold. Raman Sharma won gold in men's T38 1500m event.

Indian contingent will aim to maintain their successful performance at the Para Asian Games, with numerous events such as Lawn Bowl, Athletics, Archery,



Badminton, Swimming, Shooting, Chess, Cycling, Powerlifting and Table Tennis scheduled throughout the day.

Yesterday, Indian athletes added a total of 18 medals to its tally including three gold, three silver, and 12 bronze. Sachin Khilari bagged the first gold medal of the day for India in the men's F-46 shot put, setting a new record with a throw of 16.03 meters while the Indian duo Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar won the gold in para archery compound mixed event. In the R6 - Mixed 50m Rifle Prone SH1 event, Sidhartha Babu secured gold with a score of 247.7, narrowly defeating China's Chao Dong by a mere 0.2 points in a closely contested battle.
