India tennis contingent had a mixed outing on Monday, 25 September. Rohan Bopanna was in focus as he starred in two tennis events, men's doubles and mixed doubles. Top-seed in the men's doubles, Bopanna crashed out of the tournament with Yuki Bhambri to Uzbekistan in straight sets - 6-2, 3-6, 6-10.

The result was much better in the other event as the second-seeded pair of Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale, showcased their prowess on the court, advancing to the pre-quarterfinals after defeating Uzbekistan's Akgul Amanmuradova and Maksim Shin.

The duo's victory was particularly noteworthy given the unexpected exit of the top-seeded Indian men's doubles team earlier in the day. However, Bopanna quickly rebounded from this setback, demonstrating his resilience and skill in his match with Bhosale. The pair claimed a decisive 6-2, 6-4 win against their Uzbek opponents,

securing their place in the next round of the tournament. Their synergy on the court was evident, with both players complementing each other's strengths and effectively countering their opponents' strategies.

Bhosale, too, had an impressive performance. Earlier in the day, she had a challenging singles match against Aruzhan Sagandikova from Kazakhstan, which she won after a hard-fought battle. Despite the tough competition, Bhosale managed to maintain her composure and secure a 7-6(2), 6-2 victory. Her success in both the singles and mixed doubles events underscores her versatility and tenacity as a player.

In other result, the second seed pairing of Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan defeated Indonesia's Anthony and Agung Susanto in straight sets. The match lasted just a little over one hour as the duo defeated their men's doubles opponents in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
