Mary Kom wins gold at Commonwealth Games

On 11th Day of the 21st Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast today, MC Mary Kom won India's 18th Gold medal. The five-time world champion defeated Northern Ireland's 21-year old Kristina O'Hara in the women's 48kg boxing final. It is Mary Kom's first Commonwealth Games gold medal. 

With the latest medal, India remains in the 3rd spot in medals tally with a haul of 18 Gold, 11 Silver and 14 Bronze.

In shooting, Sanjiv Rajpur and Chain Singh reached the 50-metre Rifle 3 Positions Final. While doing so, Sanjeev Rajput shot a new Games record with a score of 1180, improving compatriot Gagan Narang’s 1166 set In Delhi 2010. The 37-year-old led his team-mate Chain Singh into the final.

2010 with his scores of 389 in kneeling, 398 in prone and 379 in standing. 

In Women's hockey semi-final, India lost to England in the Bronze medal play-off encounter. They were outplayed by the Olympic champions rivals by a 6-0 margin. 

In Men's Hockey also, India will take on England this afternoon in the Bronze medal fixture. 

In Badminton, P V Sindhu and Saina Nehwal are slated to play their women's singles semi-final matches today. In Men's Singles, Kidambi Srikkanth and H S Prannoy will also be figuring in the singles matches. 

In Table-Tennis, Tin-Tin Ho. Sathiyan and Manika will take on compatriots Sharath Kamal and Mouma Das in the bronze-medal match.
