IPL 2017: Kolkata beat Pune by 7 wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rising Pune Supergiant by seven wickets in Pune last night. 

Sent in to bat, Pune scored challenging 182 for 5 against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders in stipulated 20 overs. 

Chasing 183 for win, Kolkata managed to overhaul the target by losing only 3 wickets in 18.1 overs. Robin Uthappa made 87 off 47 balls while Gambhir scored 62 off 46 balls as the duo stitched 158 runs off just 85 balls for the second wicket to power Kolkata Knight Riders to the comprehensive



victory. 

For Pune, Steven Smith led from the front with an unbeaten 51 off 37 balls while Ajinkya Rahane contributed 46 off 41 balls.With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders have reached to the top of the table with 12 points. Mumbai is second with 12 points, having won 6 of their 8 games. 

Hyderabad is third while Pune remains at 4th with 4 victories in 8 matches. 

In today's fixture, Royal Challengers Bangalore will meet Gujarat Lions at Bengaluru. The match will begin at 8 in the evening.
