Pune: Team India bowlers produced a splendid bowling performance to halt New Zealand at 230/9 from 50 overs in the second ODI played at Maharashtra Cricket Association here.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets for 45 runs.
Yuzvendra Chahal (2/36) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/38) also contributed with the ball, while Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel picked up one wicket apiece.
For New Zealand Henry Nicholls (42 runs), Colin de Grandhomme (41 runs) and wicketkeeper Tom Latham (38 runs) were the top scorers.
Indian bowlers made early breakthroughs as they dismissed the top order inside 30 runs. Ross Taylor and Tom Latham who put up a century-run stand in the 1st ODI once again tried to bail out the team. Both the batsmen added a 31- run partnership before Taylor was sent back for 21

runs by Hardik Pandya who had him caught behind.
Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls then put together a 60-run stand for the fifth wicket to help their team recover from early blows. Latham was finally dismissed for 38 runs in 29th over by left arm spinner Axar Patel. The left-handed batsman tried to sweep Patel only to see the ball hit top of the middle stump.
Colin de Grandhomme then joined Henry Nicholls at the crease as both of them put on a 47- run stand for the 6th wicket before Nicholls was cleaned bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 42 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal halted New Zealand scoring rate when he dismissed Colin de Grandhomm and Adam Milne in the first two deliveries of the 43rd over.
Mitchell Santner (29 runs) and Tim Southee chipped in with runs in the final overs to take New Zealand to a respectable total.
