The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has "unofficially" retired the No 10 jersey worn by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar all through his One Day International (ODI) career.

A BCCI official it was retiring the jersey for international matches because of the

unnecessary controversy and criticism if any other player wore it.

The decision was reportedly taken in agreement with the top players from the Indian team.

Sachin had last donned the No 10 in March 2012 when he played his last ODI against Pakistan.
