Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised the Congress government in Rajasthan stating that they are focused on appeasement politics and seek to eradicate Sanatan Dharma while emphasising the prevalence of corruption and dynastic politics in the party.

He said, "Rajasthan needs a government which gives top priority to development, whereas for the Congress there is nothing more important than corruption and dynastic politics."

Ahead of the November 25 assembly polls in Rajasthan, the prime minister addressed rallies in Pali district and in Pilibanga in Hanumangarh district on Monday.

Modi accused the Congress and its allies of having an anti-women mindset, citing their objectionable comments and campaign against women following the passage of a law granting reservation to women in Lok Sabha and state Assemblies. He referred to the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.) as the "ghamandiya" (arrogant) alliance.

The Prime Minister pointed out instances where Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar

used derogatory language against women and individuals from backward families, criticising the Congress for not condemning such behaviour. He accused the Congress of ignoring atrocities against Dalits, stating, "Congress closes its eyes when it sees those committing atrocities against Dalits."

Highlighting the Congress government’s alleged focus on appeasement, Modi claimed that this policy led to the flourishing of individuals with a mentality of riots and terrorism in the state over the past five years.

He accused the Congress of wanting to destroy Sanatan Dharma, saying that such destruction would also mean the destruction of Rajasthan’s culture. Referring to the responsibility for high petrol prices in Rajasthan, Modi pledged that the BJP, if elected, would review petrol prices in the state. He compared petrol prices in Rajasthan to those in BJP-ruled Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.

He also highlighted the reduction in direct taxes during the BJP government’s tenure.
