Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader Narendra Modi yesterday participated in a public meeting in Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the gathering, he said that from mines and minerals to grand temples, from talented farmers to intelligent youth, from tourism potential to industries, Ralayaseema holds immense opportunities in many aspects.

Despite this, there is no development in the region due to the negligence of the YSR Congress government, he added. Mr. Modi said that YSR Congress did not develop the poor and created the mafia. The countdown for the stepping down of the YSR Congress government has begun, he added. He said NDA would make Rayalaseema reach new heights of success and make the state of Andhra Pradesh embrace unprecedented development.

Mr. Modi said that if the NDA government comes into power, they would

complete all the irrigation projects and change the lives of the farmers. Special storage clusters for vegetables and food-processing units would be established, he added. He appealed to the public to vote for NDA candidates in the elections.

Former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and BJP candidate for Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Telugu Desam Party National Secretary Nara Lokesh, senior Janasena leader K. Nagababu, and several other NDA leaders were present.

Mr. Modi later held a road show in Vijayawada, which received rousing response from the public.  The road show took place from Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium to Benz Circle. Telugu Desam Party Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Janasena Chief K. Pawan Kalyan accompanied Mr. Modi during the road show.
