In Jharkhand, campaigning for the first phase of Assembly elections will come to end today. 

Thirteen constituencies spread over six districts, including Palamu, Gumla, Garhwa and Latehar, will go to polls in this phase on Saturday. BJP President Amit Shah will address election meetings in Chatra and Garhwa today. Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Jharkhanf Mukti Morcha executive President Hemant Soren, Jharkhand Vikas Morchal President Babulal Marandi and All Jharkhand Students Union chief Sudesh Kumar Mahto are also scheduled to address election rallies.

Reservation and employment are the main issues of ongoing campaigning of almost all the political parties. During campaigning  BJP leaders are promising 33 percent reservation will be given to women if party voted to power. The party also commits reservation to OBCs will be given on the basis of



population and employment will be given to each BPL family.

On the other hand Congress, AJSU are JMM are  promising  to increase reservation in jobs for Other Backward Castes to 27 percent from the existing 14 percent. JMM and  Jharkhand Vikas Morcha(JVM)  are advocating 50 percent  reservation in government and private sectors for women if their parties gain  power. Besides these parties also  promise  permanent status will be given  to contractual staffs of .LJP and left parties commit unemployment will be eradicated  and all vacant jobs will be filled if parties comes to power.

The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will go to polls in five phases between 30th November and 20th December. 

Counting of votes will be held on 23rd of December.
