Ahead of the monsoon season, Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday reviewed the preparedness for the prevention and control of vector borne diseases with 13 high burden states through Video Conference. These States are Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Punjab Rajasthan Tripura, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Tamil Nadu. 

Dr. Mandaviya exhorted  States to ensure inter-sectoral coordination and work closely



with other related departments such as Urban Development, Rural Development and water and sanitation.

The Minister urged states to launch Jan Abhiyaan to engage citizens and communities to ensure that their homes, premises and neighborhoods are free of mosquitoes. The States were advised to involve Ayushman Bharat - Health and Wellness Centres for notification of cases, case management and ensuring community engagement.
