Hyderabad: The State government on Tuesday has decided to appoint an IAS officer to conduct an independent enquiry into the deaths of five women, who died at Niloufer Hospital after undergoing caesarean sections. 

Hyderabad District Collector, Rahul Bojja has been given the task of conducting a ‘free and fair’ enquiry into the Niloufer incident. The three-member committee of



senior doctors, appointed by the Director of Medical Education (DME), Dr. Ramani will also conduct its own parallel enquiry into the incident.

Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Rajeshwar Tiwari has directed District Collector to submit the enquiry report within a week and stressed on the importance of conducting administrative and technical study of the Niloufer Hospital incident.
