Actor Amrita Rao is proud of her career choices, and says she never had a support system to help her find her footing in the film industry.
“I have been fortunate that my commercials became famous and the best directors have managed to work on my terms. I didn’t have to chase anyone,” says Rao. “I never had any Godfather nor superstar boyfriends to piggy ride upon in the film industry. Most importantly I am immensely proud of the work I have done so far.”
However, the actor, who has given hit films such as Ishq Vishq

(2003), Main Hoon Na (2004), Vivah (2006) and Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008), does feel that she has seen her share of failures.
“In 2010 I had signed three big banner films with actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu, Arjun Rampal. Directors like Ken Ghosh, Bela Bhansali signed me and I had got my signing amounts but those films did not take off at all. I missed out on some important projects during that time and that was a big jolt to my career.I lost out on a lot of time and work,” says Rao, who is currently seen in a television show.
