Scroll through Jacqueline Fernandez’s Instagram feed and you’ll see she’s all about a healthy lifestyle, balancing out plates of indulgent pasta with killer workouts and clean eating. To top it all, she recently announced her collaboration with Raw Pressery (she’s investing in the brand) and let us in on the association, plus details of the new restaurant she’s planning to launch in Mumbai.
What made you associate with Raw Pressery as their ‘green warrior’?
I was introduced to the brand on the sets of Roy and have been hooked ever since. A ‘green warrior’ has to make a difference in people’s life around them. My ‘green ninjas’ and I will strive to influence to change the lives for all those around us, encouraging them to consume only good stuff, and avoid the bad, like artificial sugar.

You are a strong believer of no sugar, what are some healthy ways to incorporate good sugar in your diet?
It’s important to know what added sugar is before you start cutting it out completely. Natural sugar is body’s energy source and is present in fruits, a few vegetables, grains, etc. Nothing that is naturally present can harm the average body. It is the insidious items that have



excessive sugar. Instant noodles, candy, bread, and the list is endless. The healthiest way to incorporate sugar into your diet is fruit, fruit, more fruit and nothing else!
What’s your favourite way to beat the summer?
I get a handful of strawberries and blueberries, one banana and one-fourth of a pineapple. Blend well and drink. Remember not to add sugar! I also indulge in a lot of salads.
Do you endorse juice cleanses and juicing as a healthy practice?
Considering my schedule, I don’t find an opportunity to do an entire cleanse in one go, but every morning, I begin my day with a booster shot. I also indulge in a healthy green smoothie. Juices keep my skin glowing and spotless!

Tell us about your new restaurant.
Two years ago, I started my first restaurant, Kaema Sutra in Sri Lanka with a dear friend Dharshan Munidasa. Over the years, I have discovered my love for food growing day by day. Mumbai is going to be the next spot for my restaurant. It will be all things fresh and natural just as nature intended. We’re keeping the decor simple and earthy to resonate the quality of food and the experience. And yes, we will be serving Raw juices as a part of the menu.
