Osmania University (OU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tally, one of the leading accounting software companies, on Friday to offer Tally certification to commerce students at a nominal fee.

The department of commerce introduced computerised accounting and goods and services tax (GST) papers in fifth and sixth semesters of all streams in B Com from the academic year 2018-19. “Tally will provide the multi-user licensed software at free of cost to the colleges apart from



providing the required material to the students. Further, Tally will assist the colleges in placement of students with their certification,” according to a press release.

“With this students of BCom will get an option to get three additional certificates — licentiate certificate in insurance Tally certificate in accounting and Tally certificate in goods and services tax — along with BCom degree,” the press release added.
