On Friday, KT Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party and Telangana IT minister, urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to modify the CRPF recruitment notification.

Rao requested the inclusion of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and other official languages in the Computer Based Test (CBT) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recruitment tests.

He shared a screenshot of the notification on Twitter, which only showed the CBT being conducted in English and Hindi.

Rao expressed his concern that these competitive exams disadvantage students who are not from Hindi-speaking states or did not study in English

medium.

He mentioned that the National Recruitment Agency plans to replace multiple examinations with a Common Eligibility Test (NRA-CET) and conduct them in 12 Indian languages, but the decision is not being properly implemented, as highlighted in the CRPF notification.

The recruitment process for the Constable (Technical and Tradesman) posts in CRPF includes a Computer Based Test, Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), trade test, document verification, and medical examination.

However, the CRPF recruitment notification only specifies English and Hindi as the languages for CBT under section 2.3 and 12.1.1. The tentative dates for CBT are from July 1 to July 13, 2023.
