Two arrests with 780 kg of ganja in Hyderabad

The Prohibition and Excise Department on Friday nabbed two persons for smuggling marijuana from Tuni in West Godavari district to the city. As many as 390 packets of marijuana weighing 780 kg were seized from the arrested persons K Bichappa, a lorry driver and native of Zaheerabad and J Santosh from Sangareddy district.

Hari Rathod from Sangareddy district, who



brought the substance along with Chanti, the seller, who belongs to West Godavari district and lorry owner Mohd Nizam from Zaheerabad, were absconding. The seized substance was valued at Rs 93 lakh.

Based on information, the excise officials intercepted the lorry on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway at Abdullapurmet and seized the contraband.
