Hyderabad, February 11, 2015 :   In a tragic road accident, six persons, including two women, were killed and six others sustained serious injuries when a speeding truck rammed into a parked Tata multi-seater auto on NH-9 near IIT-Hyderabad in Kandi in Medak district on Tuesday.

The police identified four of the deceased as Yadamma, 45, of Bandlaguda, Patancheru, Naveen Kumar, 30, and Nirupa, 30, both natives of Sivampeta and Prakash Goud, 30, of Sadasivapeta. Two other passengers died while undergoing treatment, the police said. The ill-fated multi-seater auto was returning to Sadasivapeta from Patancheru carrying 12 passengers. 

When the vehicle



was stopped to drop off a passenger on the road side of NH-9 near IIT-H, a speeding truck rammed into the auto from behind around 3.30 pm killing four on the spot. Two others died in the hospital while undergoing treatment. The injured were immediately rushed to Balaji Hospital and Sangaredddy Area Hospital respectively for treatment.

The truck driver fled from the spot and the police seized the vehicle. A case has been registered under Section 304 –A and 337 of the IPC. “Efforts are being made to nab the truck driver,” DSP, M Tirupatana said. On receipt of information, Medak district collector Rahul Bojja visited the spot and took stock of the situation.
