Customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport, Shamshabad, on Sunday apprehended a passenger from Sharjah who was trying to smuggle in `10 lakh worth gold and other items.

While checking the passenger who arrived by an Air Arabia flight (G9-458) from Sharjah on Sunday morning, the customs officials found two gold chains



concealed in his trouser secret pocket. The weight of the gold chains was 291.3 grams.

The customs officials then checked the baggage of the passenger and found a few undeclared items, including tins and packets of protein powder, Apple mobile phones, perfumes and a Playstation-4. Officials seized all the items.
