Man raped minor girl in Guntur district

A 5-yearold girl was allegedly raped inside a community bathroom in her colony at Ambedkar Nagar under Tsundur mandal on Tuesday.

The accused was identified as Ratna Raju, 32. According to Tsundur CI Ramesh Babu, Raju, her neighbour, saw the little girl sitting outside her home all alone in the afternoon and took her inside the bathroom and raped her. After that, Raju fled as locals reached the spot and found the girl in tears.

“Both parents of



the victim are manual labourers and were not at home when the incident happened. We have sent the girl to a local government hospital for medical examination,” Ramesh told. Meanwhile, police said that they have information about the accused and assured that they would soon catch him.

A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and under Section 376 of IPC (attempt rape) has been filed.
